Steven Toia and Marc Debney are pleased to announce that Senior Associate, Jamie McCutcheon, has been named as a Principal within our Genton team. The decision to elevate Jamie’s role at Genton is a clear recognition of his commitment to quality design and leadership, as well as a reflection of our continued growth as a practice.
From Steven’s perspective, Jamie’s transition into this significant role is one that comes with great anticipation and a positive vision for the dynamic outcomes that he will be a critical part of achieving.
‘Jamie has been a part of our team at Genton for more than three years, after working at other respected practices in both Melbourne and the United Kingdom,’ says Marc Debney. ‘Jamie joined us after Genton won the Frankston Railway Station design competition, and, through his extensive delivery-focussed experience, we are proud to have turned the competition-winning design into an award-winning piece of Architecture that makes a positive contribution to the local community.’
Since completing Frankston, Jamie has been the lead Architect on Genton’s major rail and infrastructure projects, including the dynamic Reservoir Station project – one of five railway stations Genton is currently designing. ‘Jamie has built up a strong reputation with key stakeholders in this space including Metro Trains Melbourne and the Office of the Victorian Government Architect. He is a key member of our team, working collaboratively and mentoring Architects and graduates within the office. Jamie’s promotion reinforces our confidence in his contribution to our broader growth and future success,’ says Marc Debney. ‘At Genton, we believe in recognising and rewarding talented people.’
In conjunction with Jamie’s promotion, Steven and Marc will also see their titles shift to fellow Principals, a move that reflects Genton’s commitment to longevity and an expanding leadership team.
With a diverse range of major projects currently underway, Steven, Marc and Jamie are confident that this transition will further enhance Genton’s growing reputation and, together, our entire Genton team look forward to achieving even greater things into the future.
