Glenroy Station Finalist for Prestigious Architectural Prize – World Architecture Festival Award

It’s a great honour to have Glenroy Station shortlisted in the World Architecture Festival Awards in the Transport category. Glenroy Station has been extremely well received both internationally and nationally. Most recently the project won silver at the 2023 MELBOURNE Design Awards for Public and Institutional Architecture. It also received four silver awards at the celebrated 2023 GOV Design Awards for Urban Design, Community and Civic, Transport, and Public in recognition for outstanding design and innovation.

Projects like these revolutionise the way we see transport infrastructure, recognising their urban importance and offering passengers a first-hand experience of what creative ideas and thought-provoking architecture can achieve. However, Glenroy is not just a bold architectural statement for a station design. The urban design strategy was of great significance – by eliminating major road congestion issues within the suburb and through providing green open spaces, it has ultimately strengthened the community culture of Glenroy.

We’re extremely proud of the success of Glenroy Station, a project that would not have been possible without the collective effort of our collaborators. We feel very fortunate to have worked alongside some of the best. We would like to thank landscape architects Mala Studio , the great people at North Western Program Alliance, KBR, Inc., John Holland, Level Crossing Removal Project and Metro Trains Melbourne.
